SAN DIEGO, September 25, 2003—Boatracs,
the premier provider of integrated

global maritime industry, has named
former QUALCOMM Vice President David
Brandos as Vice President, Business
Development and Marketing. With over
20 years of leadership in both the
development of wireless technology
and its widespread expansion into
a variety of business applications,
Brandos will serve a pivotal role
in Boatracs’ new business development.
Brandos has held senior executive
positions at IBM, QUALCOMM, Alltel,
PCSI, and McCaw Cellular. At QUALCOMM,
Brandos’ responsibilities
included serving as Vice President
of Marketing and Business Development
for the Wireless Business Solutions
division, where he led a team to
expand the company’s OmniTRACS
satellite-tracking business into
new wireless-data products and services.
Boatracs is a value-added reseller
for OmniTRACS, providing wireless
communication services and information
system solutions to the maritime
industry. Most recently Pharos served
as President of Pharos Science & Applications, Inc., a Torrance,
CA-based provider of GPS-based navigation
products and services.
