SAN DIEGO - December 2, 2002
- Boatracs®, a business unit of
Advanced Remote Communication Solutions,
Inc. (ARCOMS) (OTCBB: BTRK.OB), announced
today a significant sale of satellite
communications terminals, software
and communication services to Ingram
Marine Group of Nashville, Tennessee
for use in its newly acquired Midland
Enterprises fleet. Because the new
fleet had a competing satellite communication
system, a high priority need arose
to unify the communications for the
joined fleet.
"Boatracs is privileged to
continue and grow our business with
Ingram Marine Group" said Arcoms
CEO Brandon Nixon. "The choice
by Ingram emphasizes the strength
of the Boatracs equipment, software
and communications services. It
demonstrates Boatracs strong understanding
of customers needs in the workboat
market."
According to Dale Heller, SVP &
CIO, Information Systems of Ingram
Marine Group, "After investigating
and testing a number of alternatives,
we made a decision that Boatracs
offers the best solution of our
communications needs. The reliability
of Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS based
satellite communications services
provided through Arcoms’ Boatracs
was a key factor in our decision,
as well as the responsiveness of
the Boatracs team. We look forward
to a continuing partnership with
Boatracs."
