OmniTRACS®
is an interactive information management
system that includes two-way mobile
communications, satellite tracking
and fleet management software. Designed
with your crews’ needs in mind,
the OmniTRACS hardware is extremely
user-friendly and requires very little
training to operate. With OmniTRACS
real-time messaging, performance monitoring,
and systems integration, the benefits
in customer service, operating efficiencies
and crew satisfaction are only a keystroke
away.
The OmniTRACS Mobile Communications
Terminal (MCT) system consists of
three major elements - integrated
mobile hardware, network management
services and application software.
The MCT is the vessel’s interface
with the OmniTRACS System.
The OmniTRACS system is an integrated
communications tool that links every
vessel in your fleet to your dispatch
center. OmniTRACS enables fleets to
maintain continuous two-way communications
with vessels and crew, 24 hours a
day, with no gaps in coverage. The
service provides regional coverage
in the United States, Mexico, Canada
and Europe with geostationary Ku-band
satellites.
Providing current, as well as historical
vessel location information, QUALCOMM®
Automatic Satellite Position Reporting
(QASPR®) uses satellite triangulation
to provide accurate vessel location.
QASPR was the first commercially
available satellite positioning
system in the world. Integrated
GPS (Global Positioning System)
is also available as a system option.
OmniTRACS
users can take advantage of BoatComm®,
a pre-paid boat e-mail and phone service.
BoatComm allows crew members to send
and receive e-mail from the boat,
without the owner of the boat incurring
charges for the service. The BoatComm
card can be recharged by check, money
order, or credit card, either over
the phone or from the boat itself
via satellite. On land, the BoatComm
card can be used as a telephone calling
card and can provide the user with
personal voice mail and conference
calling. Boatracs' customers can offer
this service to their crew independently
from their own communications as an
employee benefit or crew retention
or recruitment tool.

QWIN
(QTRACS® for Windows)
QTRACS for Windows (QWIN) uses
the OmniTRACS system to communicate
with vessels. It is your interface
with OmniTRACS. QWIN runs on
a PC network or standalone PC
in your dispatch center. QWIN
can be used to receive, create
and send messages, copy and
redirect messages and locate
vessels. QWIN is very customizable;
you can easily change information
about your fleet including adding,
deleting, or updating the information
assigned to vessels that are
added or deleted. Use QWIN to
maintain two-way contact with
your company's vessels 24 hours
a day, and you can locate them
at any time. |
WBUI
The BoatComm User Interface for Windows
(WBUI) is a software program that
allows you to send and receive messages
via a computer instead of, or in addition
to, the keyboard unit. An RS-232 cable
is used to connect the computer to
your QUALCOMM Mobile Communication
Terminal (MCT) on board your vessel.
With WBUI, you can send and receive
both ASCII messages and binary files.
This allows you to send and receive
binary files of any type such as Word
documents, Excel spreadsheets, or
databases.

Router
Router is a software program
developed by Boatracs to make
the data exported from QWIN
easier to use and deliver to
other applications in your office.
Router can write delimited data
files to any valid path and
file. Delimited files are easy
to import into other "off-the-shelf"
applications or into one of
Boatracs' interactive custom
software applications. Router
also serves as the office side
utility for sending and receiving
binary files to and from the
boat. |
