It is mid-year already, and we are excited to share some good news about Boatracs and our customers. And with everything going on in this economy, we also want to remind you that we offer a number of services to assist your operation:
Weather - Once or twice daily reports can be sent to your entire fleet. Or you can call in Weather on Demand and only send updates when a storm or hurricane is heading your way. Select one boat or send to the entire fleet.
Automatic Reports - Custom reports can be automatically emailed to one or more email addresses. This feature is great for setting up an automatic report for Job Status Updates which are emailed directly to your customers!
Extended Coverage to Mexico - Many of our customers are picking up work in the Gulf of Mexico and Bay of Campeche. Boatracs offers an extended coverage unit to provide seamless communications in those areas.

CUSTOMER PROFILE: GULF COAST TUGS USING BOATRACS EXTENDED COVERAGE TO WORK IN MEXICO
Ken Hebert, President and Owner of Gulf Coast Tugs, has been a customer of Boatracs since 1995 when he worked for a previous company. Now Ken has gone out on his own and made the business decision to sign on again with Boatracs.
Ken knew that he could get reliable, low-cost communications that covered the entire Gulf of Mexico. And, when the opportunity to take his first job in Mexico came along, Boatracs was there to help. With installation completed on the day he set sail, he was able to work beyond the US waters of the gulf without any interruption in communications.
“Efficiency, ease of use, and reliability are critical no matter where you travel, but especially if you're crossing the Gulf of Mexico,” said Ken. “I have plans to expand the fleet, and I want to have systems in place from day one that make communicating with customers, taking care of compliance, and running my boats simple, easy and top-notch. Boatracs lets me do that.”
A native of South Louisiana and entrepreneur, Ken has been a part of the maritime industry in the gulf for most of his life. With an eye towards using technology to improve operations, Ken has implemented our paperless onboard forms software package, BT Forms, for all of his forms and logs including Daily Boat Log, Engine Room Log, Groceries, Payroll Sheets, JSA’s and more.

PRODUCT UPDATE: BOATRACS DELIVERING NEW SOFTWARE PLATFORM IN 2011
Boatracs is building a powerful new web-based software platform, and we have partnered with a software expert in the transportation and logistics industry to accelerate the development of the new solution.
Available to the general market in Q4 of 2011, this new product will enable access to vital data across multiple devices and offer an improved mapping and tracking interface. In addition, it wil integrate current and emerging maritime information systems such as AIS. Look for more details later this year!
